The Government of Nunavut still lists Pond Inlet under a boil-water advisory issued July 17, 2025. The Department of Health repeated on July 31, 2026 that the advisory remained in effect, and the current territorial advisory page continues to list it on Sept. 16. The advisory has now been in place for more than 13 months. It affects water used for several everyday consumption needs, including drinking, food preparation, infant formula, ice and toothbrushing. This is a continuing public-health advisory, not a newly issued notice. The Government of Nunavut’s July 31 territory-wide reminder listed Pond Inlet alongside other communities with active advisories.
