NTI announces Nunavut Day snowmobile and ATV draw winners
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. says Nunavut Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement were automatically entered in its 2026 Nunavut Day draw, with one snowmobile and one ATV available in each community. NTI schedules public board meeting in Baker Lake for Aug. 25
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. says its Board of Directors will hold a public regular meeting at 1 p.m. Central on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at the Baker Lake Community Hall. KIA seeks four temporary AGM directors from Kivalliq beneficiaries
The Kivalliq Inuit Association is seeking Kivalliq beneficiaries for four Additional Director roles at its Oct. 6–8 annual general meeting in Rankin Inlet. Applications, including a letter of interest and resume, are due Sept. 18 at noon CST. The roles are limited to the AGM itself, not ongoing board appointments. KIA allocates $19.05M in new Sapuulutaq funding across Kivalliq communities
The Kivalliq Inuit Association board approved $19,049,656 in 2026–27 Sapuulutaq allocations: $17.15 million for community initiatives and $1.90 million for education. KIA says the funding began rolling out April 1 and is available for communities to apply for; it is an allocation of funding, not confirmation that individual projects have been approved. ICC chairship moves to Canada as Aluki Kotierk begins four-year term
The Inuit Circumpolar Council’s General Assembly concluded in Iqaluit on July 25 with Aluki Kotierk elected chair for 2026–30, transferring the organization’s rotating international chairship from Kalaallit Nunaat to Canada. Delegates also adopted an Iqaluit Declaration intended to guide ICC’s work, though ICC has not publicly linked the declaration text.
Kivalliq Inuit Association offers Chesterfield Inlet help with program applications
Kivalliq Inuit Association is holding a three-day community visit in Chesterfield Inlet from August 11 to 13, 2026. The visit is an outreach and application-support session, not a new funding decision. KIA says all Kivalliq beneficiaries are welcome; a final open-house session is scheduled for Thursday, August 13, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Chesterfield Inlet Cultural Centre.
NTI approves $6.8M youth plan, $18.7M housing-interest distribution; questions remain on Arctic Fresh housing role
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. says its board approved a $6.8-million youth wellness plan, distribution of $18.7 million in interest earned on federal Inuit housing funds, and transitional-housing work in four communities. NTI says Arctic Fresh Ltd. was selected through a competitive process, but it has not published the project contract, value, unit counts or schedule. Public records identify related Arctic Fresh entities as Inuit firms with previous government contracts and grants, but do not establish an ownership or governance tie to NTI or the regional Inuit associations.
NTI expands monthly support for eligible Nunavut Inuit Elders
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. has expanded its Uqqujjait Innarnut Elders Support Program to provide additional Elders with monthly payments beginning in August 2026.
