Nathaniel Hutchinson, director of the Government of Nunavut’s Petroleum Products Division, is scheduled to appear before the House of Commons Indigenous and Northern Affairs Committee on Tuesday, Oct. 20, as it continues its study of affordability challenges in Northern Canada. Hutchinson is listed for the second hour, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern time, by videoconference. Petroleum supply and fuel costs affect household expenses, heating, transportation, power generation and the price of goods in many Nunavut communities. The listed witness gives the committee a direct Government of Nunavut source as it examines Northern affordability, but the notice does not disclose what evidence or recommendations he will give.
