Arctic Bay small-craft harbour work begins; mariners asked to give 100-metre berth
Canadian Coast Guard NAVWARN NW-A-0245-26 says dredging and construction for Arctic Bay’s new small-craft harbour is scheduled daily from Aug. 30 to Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. UTC. Mariners are asked to remain 100 metres clear of the work areas; the notice says the areas will not be marked.

The Coast Guard’s published navigation warning identifies two dredging areas and a separate dumping area in Arctic Bay. It says workers will monitor VHF Channel 77 during the daily work period and requests a 100-metre wide berth from vessels.

The notice provides time-sensitive marine-access information for vessels using Arctic Bay during active harbour construction. Because no markers will delimit the work areas, mariners need the NAVWARN coordinates and radio information to avoid the dredging and disposal zones.
