Nunavut Quits lists text option for confidential quit support

ᓇᐃᓈᕐᓗᒍ

Nunavut Quits now lists a text option alongside its phone service: people can text **NUQUITS** to **123456** for Quitline support. The Government of Nunavut service says the confidential, no-cost program is available 24 hours a day for people reducing or quitting smoking, chewing tobacco or vaping, as well as people supporting someone else. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ

The Government of Nunavut’s Nunavut Quits website lists text messaging as a way to contact the Nunavut Quitline. Its Quitline page was last updated June 24, 2026 and gives both the text instruction and the existing phone number, 1-866-368-7848. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ

The update gives Nunavummiut another way to reach quit support without making a phone call. The service says it can help people who want to reduce or quit tobacco or vaping, people who have already quit and want support, family and friends, and health and wellness workers seeking information about tobacco, cannabis and vaping.
