KIA posted the call for nominations on Sept. 2. Sakku is a KIA subsidiary that pursues business partnerships, joint ventures and equity investments intended to support economic development and Inuit employment opportunities in the Kivalliq region. This is a call for nominees, not an appointment or a decision by the Sakku board. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ

The two directors will be members at large and will help govern an Inuit-owned regional business corporation involved in economic-development partnerships. The opportunity is open across the Kivalliq region rather than being assigned to one community. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ

KIA says it will consider qualified beneficiaries through what it describes as an open and accountable process. The notice does not state when appointments will be announced or when the new directors’ terms will begin. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ
