What happened
KIA posted an Aug. 17 expression of interest for four Additional Directors: an Elders representative aged 55 or older, a Youth representative aged 16 or older, a Women’s representative and a Member at Large. The call is open only to Kivalliq beneficiaries. Sourcekivalliqinuit.ca↗
Why it matters
The call gives eligible Kivalliq beneficiaries a time-limited route to participate in KIA governance at the 2026 AGM, including representation designated for Elders, youth and women. KIA says the selected Additional Directors will hold office only for AGM purposes. Sourcekivalliqinuit.ca↗
What happens next
Applicants must send a letter of interest and resume to KIA by Sept. 18, 2026, at 12 p.m. CST. The AGM is scheduled for Oct. 6–8 in the Siniktarvik Conference Room in Rankin Inlet, beginning at 9 a.m. CST. Sourcekivalliqinuit.ca↗ Sourcekivalliqinuit.ca↗
