It says volunteer training is held Tuesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with additional sessions during the year, and describes certified training, hands-on experience and a complimentary gym membership as benefits. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗

People interested in either stream should contact Emergency Services Dispatch/Admin at 867-979-5650 or dispatch@iqaluit.ca to ask about eligibility, required documents and the next intake. The City’s page does not state when applications close. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗

The City says volunteers contribute more than 300 hours annually on average. A downloadable junior-firefighter application remains posted, but it is dated May 14, 2019; it indicates junior members are intended to prepare for full membership at age 18 and/or after high-school graduation. The current recruitment page does not give junior-member age criteria. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗
