Iqaluit council to consider leases for Tundra Ridge expansion lots
Iqaluit council is scheduled to give first and second readings on Aug. 25 to By-law 1037, which would authorize 99-year City leases to Tom Fitzgerald Construction for two pre-subdivision lots tied to the Tundra Ridge expansion. What happened
The Aug. 25 City Council Meeting #10 agenda lists By-law 1037 for first and second reading, with no third reading scheduled. The proposed land-disposal by-law would authorize leases for Lot 23, Block 215, Plan 4915 and Lot 3, Block 249, Plan 4949. Why it matters
Council already approved the land-disposal agreement for PLD 26-001, the Tundra Ridge expansion, on July 28. The proposed by-law is a further legal step to enable the two head leases, and the attached templates provide enforceable-looking development timing and termination terms not set out in the earlier published motion. Important details
