Igluvut names Joe Adla Kunuk as inaugural CEO and Raymond Quqshuun as board chair
Igluvut Corporation has appointed Joe Adla Kunuk as its inaugural chief executive officer and Raymond Quqshuun as chair of its board. The appointments put permanent operational and board leadership in place for the Inuit-led housing organization, but do not announce housing starts, project locations, program eligibility or new funding. What happened
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc. announced August 25 that Igluvut’s board appointed Kunuk as the organization’s first CEO and Quqshuun as board chair. NTI says Kunuk will establish operations, develop partnerships and lead the development and implementation of Igluvut housing programs and initiatives. Why it matters
Igluvut was created as an Inuit-led, not-for-profit housing organization intended to provide affordable rental, market-rental and homeownership options for Nunavut Inuit. The appointments follow the corporation’s January governance setup and CEO recruitment process, moving it closer to operating capacity.
