Residents need to keep boiling water for consumption until the government announces the advisory has been lifted. The July 15 notice says the requirement applies to drinking, preparing infant formula, making juice and ice, washing fruit and vegetables, cooking and brushing teeth. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗

The Department of Health says it will notify the community when the advisory is lifted. The Sept. 17 notice is a status reminder, not a new advisory or an explanation of when water conditions will improve.

This is an ongoing public-health notice, not a new water-system decision. The original July 15 advisory identified high turbidity as the reason. The Government of Nunavut says water must reach a rolling boil for at least one full minute for the listed consumption uses.
