RCMP said Sept. 3 they were investigating a series of break-ins involving multiple stored modular housing units on the north side of Gjoa Haven along Seal Street. Police said the units were damaged. The RCMP later corrected its release to say the damaged units belong to the Gjoa Haven Housing Association and are future community homes. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗

The reported damage affects units intended to add housing in a community where new homes are needed. The RCMP release does not say how many units were affected, the cost of damage, whether repairs have started or whether the damage will delay the homes being occupied.
