City-wide boil-water advisory remains in effect after Iqaluit water shutdown
The City of Iqaluit says all residents on piped water service were subject to a precautionary boil-water advisory after a city-wide water shutdown on Saturday, Sept. 5. The City’s current notices page does not list a subsequent city-wide lift notice. The City announced on Sept. 4 that water service would be shut down city-wide, for all Iqaluit properties on piped water, from about 6 a.m. to noon on Sept. 5 for necessary water-infrastructure work. The advisory applies broadly across piped-water Iqaluit, rather than only to a listed group of civic addresses. The City says it will issue a public service announcement after the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer informs it that the advisory has been lifted.
