Boil-water advisory remains in place for three Iqaluit address groups after Aug. 31 shutdown
The City of Iqaluit has not posted a notice lifting the precautionary boil-water advisory issued for 4065A-D, 4065 E-H and 4096B after a planned water shutdown on Aug. 31. Residents at those addresses should continue to boil water used for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth for at least one full minute until the City issues a lift notice. ᓇᑭᓐᖔᖅᓯᒪᓂᖏᑦ↗

The City scheduled a water interruption from about 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31 for water-infrastructure work at 4065A-D, 4065 E-H and 4096B. It said a precautionary boil-water advisory automatically applies when water pressure drops. The advisory affects water used for drinking, infant formula, juice and ice, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking and brushing teeth. The City recommends bringing water for those purposes to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

The City says it will notify residents when the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer confirms that the advisory can be lifted. Until then, the affected address groups remain subject to the precautionary advisory.
