Iqaluit water shutdowns planned Sept. 10 and 11; boil-water advisories will apply to affected addresses

What happened
The Sept. 10 interruption is planned for civic address ranges 400–500, 523–588 and 1601–1992. A separate Sept. 11 interruption is planned for 504, 506, 508, 513, 515, 517, 519, 5000–5099, 5300, 5302, 5304, 5306–5610, 5612A-C, 5614, 5618A-F, 5320, 5322A-J, 5324A-J and 5326A-F. Why it matters
People at affected addresses should plan for a daytime loss of water service and boil water used for drinking, cooking, infant formula, ice, washing fruit and vegetables, and brushing teeth. The City recommends bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one full minute during each advisory.

The shutdowns are planned, not completed. The City says it will issue public notices when the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer confirms each precautionary advisory can be lifted. Residents should check their civic address against the City’s notices before the scheduled shutdown day.
