Iqaluit schedules Sunday water shutdown and boil-water advisory for three address areas

What happened
The City posted the notice on Friday, Sept. 11 for necessary water-infrastructure work on Sunday. This is a planned interruption, not an unplanned outage or a notice that the advisory has already been lifted.
Why it matters
People at the listed addresses may lose water service for much of the day and will need to boil water used for drinking, making infant formula, preparing food, making ice, washing fruit and vegetables, and brushing teeth. The City recommends bringing the water to a rolling boil for at least one full minute.

The City says it will issue another public service announcement after the Office of the Chief Public Health Officer tells it the precautionary advisory has been lifted. Residents should watch for that lift notice before returning to normal use of tap water for consumption.
