Sakku Enterprises Ltd., a Sakku Investments subsidiary, and Arctic Fresh Projects Inc. announced a memorandum of understanding in Rankin Inlet on July 2. The organizations say the agreement creates a framework to collaborate on construction and infrastructure opportunities, with a focus on affordable housing, Inuit construction-workforce development and future partnerships in the Kivalliq. The agreement could help connect two Inuit firms’ construction capacity and training efforts in a region facing housing and infrastructure needs. But it is an agreement to pursue future collaboration, not an announced housing build, government procurement award or guarantee of jobs or training placements.
