The federal department plans to create a Nunavut Settlement Area request for standing offers for environmental consulting, with an estimated 36-month term beginning April 1, 2027. Services contemplated include environmental assessment and permitting, water sampling, hazardous-material surveys, contaminated-sites assessments, remediation planning, tender support and site supervision. If the plan proceeds as described, firms not registered on the Inuit Firm Registry would not be eligible for the Nunavut stream. Standing offers would pre-qualify firms for possible future call-ups, but would not guarantee a set amount of work or any work at all.
