The Board’s project dashboard also records that notifications were sent to parties on Sept. 14. The proposal would include a deep-water port, small-craft harbour and supporting port facilities on Coronation Gulf, plus a 230-kilometre all-season road to the former Jericho Mine site. NIRB says the port would be about 180 kilometres east of Kugluktuk. West Kitikmeot Resources Corp. says the proposed project would handle cargo, fuel, containers and community supplies, while also providing transport for minerals from possible future mines.
