What happened

KIA posted the visit on August 6 and says residents can learn about its programs, ask questions and get help with applications. Its English flyer lists information on the Traditional Economy Fund and business-development supports, including the Business Development Fund and Entrepreneurship and Business Development Program.

Why it matters

The visit provides in-person access to KIA staff for beneficiaries who may need help understanding or applying for existing regional supports. The flyer says the Traditional Economy Fund can support harvesting equipment, sewing materials, carving tools and arts-and-crafts supplies, while the Business Development Fund may provide up to $50,000 per year.

What happens next

The remaining listed session is Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Chesterfield Inlet Cultural Centre. KIA has not announced a new funding intake, award or policy change in connection with the visit.
