Iqaluit lifts boil-water advisory for listed 5000- and 5300-series addresses
The City of Iqaluit lifted the precautionary boil-water advisory on Sept. 14 for a specified group of addresses affected by a Sept. 11 water shutdown. Residents at those addresses may again use tap water without the precautionary boiling requirement. Source↗
What happened
The City says the advisory was lifted for addresses 5000–5099, 5300, 5302, 5304, 5306–5610, 5612A-C, 5614, 5618A-F, 5320, 5322A-J, 5324A-J and 5326A-F. The advisory had automatically applied after water pressure dropped during scheduled infrastructure work on Sept. 11. Source↗
Why it matters
This is a completed public-health service update for the affected homes and buildings. It ends the City’s precautionary advice to boil water used for drinking, cooking, infant formula, ice, washing produce and brushing teeth.
What happens next
The lift applies only to the addresses listed in the Sept. 14 notice. A separate City notice issued Sept. 16 schedules another water shutdown and precautionary boil-water advisory for different listed addresses on Sept. 18. Source↗
