The Department of Family Services announced July 15 that it had reached an agreement with Angirraq Corporation to continue the existing service arrangement until March 31, 2027. The department says the extension is intended to prevent an interruption in group-home and support services for children and youth. Source↗

The agreement keeps an existing Iqaluit child- and youth-support service operating for the rest of the current fiscal year. It also raises public-accountability questions because the department says the parties will review both how services are delivered and the financial arrangements behind them.

Family Services and Angirraq say they will complete a comprehensive joint review. The government has not published a review schedule, terms of reference, contract value, number of homes or youth covered, or a date for public results.

This is a completed service-extension agreement, not a new program, tender or permanent long-term contract. The public release does not identify the funding amount, the full scope of services, performance requirements, or what changes could follow the review.
